Campaigns in Wales on behalf of social and private sector residents, tenants & leaseholders involved in the fire cladding & building safety crisis

About
Welsh Cladiators are an organic grass roots organisation comprising innocent victims of the Welsh Fire Cladding and Building Safety Crisis. We came together following the horrific 14 June 2017 Grenfell Fire Tragedy. Throughout Wales and England, tens of thousands of innocent citizens discovered that their homes were riddled with serious fire and building defects. Since then we have been met with huge increases in service charges and insurance premiums as strategies have been developed to cope with the consequences of the crisis.
The building safety crisis has exposed systemic weaknesses in both the Welsh and English regulatory and legal systems. Eight years from the horrific Grenfell tragedy many thousands of homes have still to be remediated as developers adopt a pedestrian approach to the crisis. Victims are experiencing huge financial pressures along with 24/7 metal stress.
Housing is devolved in Wales and so Welsh Cladiators are engaged in lobbying the Welsh Government to enact stronger sanctions and laws to force developers to speed up their pedestrian approach to the crisis. However, wherever possible we seek to collaborate with fellow victims in England.
We engage in lobbying activities with the Welsh Government and Welsh media along with the organisation of public protests. Our activities are centred around the cities of Cardiff and Swansea which represent the epicentre of the crisis in Wales.
