Consider supporting West Brooklyn Waterfront Mutual Aid this Giving Tuesday!
Published on November 28, 2023 by Amanda Barone

Dear Neighbors,

On this Giving Tuesday, we wanted to send a quick update on our recent activity here at West Brooklyn Waterfront Mutual Aid and encourage you to get more involved as we head into the time of the year where our neighbors most need our help. There are multiple ways you can support us, and there is NO minimum commitment of time or money!

1. You can attend our next all-hands meeting, which will be held virtually TONIGHT, Tuesday, November 28th, at 7pm: https://meet.google.com/rsg-yqwi-zpc?pli=1. Learn more about WBWMA, the current state of our organization, and offer ideas for the future.

2. You can donate here on Open Collective! Remember that every single dollar we receive goes directly to neighbors in need. Link is here: https://opencollective.com/westbrooklynwaterfrontmutualaid/contribute

3. You can help shop and deliver groceries to neighbors in need! If you have the availability to do 2 deliveries one month and zero the next, your help will still be so valuable, and the training is brief and efficient.

4. You can help on dispatch! Help monitor the messages and grocery lists coming in and pair them up with shoppers.

5. You can find gifts for friends and family in our merch store, which is: https://www.bonfire.com/food-for-good-light-by-bawa-1/

We appreciate the support you’ve given us since our founding in 2020—since then, we have made over 4,500 deliveries of groceries, household supplies, and PPE to neighbors in Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Red Hook, Gowanus, Boerum Hill, and other Brooklyn neighborhoods. We couldn't do this vital work without your help!

If you or your family are in need of groceries this season, please don’t hesitate to call or text us at 929-314-0899 or email us at [email protected]

In solidarity,
WBWMA
