z-libs is the umbrella organization dedicated to modernizing systems programming without abandoning the C ecosystem. We are the team behind Zen C, the viral systems language, and a suite of header-only C/C++ libraries focused on high-performance and ergonomics.


Our Flagship Projects

  • Zen C: A modern language that solves C pain-points without leaving it. It features strong type safety, generics, and defer resource management, all while compiling to human-readable C.
  • The z-libs Suite: A collection of header-only, zero-dependency C libraries designed to outperform standard implementations. Some of them are:
    • zmap: generic hash map (up to 40x faster than uthash)
    • zvec & zlist: Type-safe dynamic arrays and linked lists using X-Macros.
    • znet: Cross-platform networking in a single header.
    • zstr: SSO-optimized strings with safer semantics.
