About
I'm an international journalist based in Lyttelton/Ōhinehou and the bestselling author of CULT TRIP: Inside the world of coercion & control (HarperCollins). Over the last ten years, I covered high-demand groups across the world and in New Zealand for North & South, Stuff, The Spinoff, New Zealand Geographic, Canvas and The Listener and have worked as a research advisor on the TVNZ documentary “Heaven and Hell: The Centrepoint Story” as well as other cult related media projects.
I'm a co-founder of FACT (Fight Against Conspiracy Theories) Aotearoa and a public speaker who runs workshops about red flags in groups (“How not to start a cult”). DECULT is my full-time passion project for 2024.
