Honouring Our Beloved Elders – The OBE Tea Party Returns 🌟
I'm excited to share that The OBE (Our Beloved Elders) Tea Party is returning this year!
This special event, hosted by Camden Black British History, celebrates Camden’s Windrush generation, those who helped rebuild Britain after WWII and shaped the vibrant borough we know today.
Last year, thanks to generous support through GoFundMe, https://www.gofundme.com/f/camden-windrush-event-support we raised over £700 and hosted a truly beautiful gathering. The event was such a success that our elders and community have asked for it again—this time, we’re aiming even higher.
We’re now raising £3,000 to make this year’s celebration bigger, warmer, and even more impactful. Funds will go towards:
- Catering a traditional Caribbean tea party 🍰
- £50 Sainsbury’s gift cards for 25 honoured guests 🛍️
- Event materials, activities, prizes & transport 🎉
