OBE Storytelling and Conversations: Building Connections and Celebrating Our Shared History
We invite older adults to come together and share their stories, creating a platform for diverse voices to be heard. We work closely with other local groups who support older people, and actively encourage individuals from Camden's African and Caribbean heritage, whose rich cultural and historical legacies are scarcely recorded in Camden's archive narratives. By fostering partnerships, we aim to create a space where knowledge is shared, community cohesion is strengthened, and a deep sense of inclusion and belonging is nurtured. As part of Camden’s Windrush Celebration events held in June, we proudly honour our Windrush pioneers, whose contributions have shaped Camden’s social and economic fabric, with a Caribbean Tea Party event, where invitees can enjoy an outdoor afternoon of music, entertainment, and delicious Caribbean food. It’s a chance to reunite with people you haven’t seen in years, and share stories both old and new.
