About

In May 2020, after video footage surfaced of the racially-motivated murder of Ahmaud Arbery, and the killings of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd at the hands of police, White members of the Waco community asked to partner with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community leaders and organizers to create lasting change. We recognize the need for these collaborative efforts to be directed, guided, and led by BIPOC; thus this alliance was formed.

We are a newly founded alliance of BIPOC community leaders and organizers, White accomplices, ally organizations and businesses. In order to create longterm and meaningful change in our city and county, we recognize there must be an intersectional alliance between Black and Brown-led organizations and White allies wanting to do more than stand by while their BIPOC neighbors are facing systemic and structural violence. We're a group who is ready to ACT.

We're working together strategically, collectively, and creatively for racial justice in Waco, McLennan County, and the "Heart of Texas" Region. Using effective models employed across the state and nation, we fight for long lasting change. We recognize that while BIPOC individuals are not being killed by police in our streets, they are being robbed of their freedom to thrive, from the cradle to the classroom to the courtroom. The time for change is now!
