The project has been cancelled - refunding in progress
Hello everyone,
The project has been cancelled due to lack of funding, and the absence of a sponsorship.
I am currently working on refunding everyone what they have donated. Please keep in mind, that commission bank/PayPal fees will probably be deducted from the total amount.

Thank you for your time and support.

Background
Hello! I’m Danial, also known as Nart Tlisha. I’m a Jordanian Circassian with a passion for preserving and modernizing the languages of the Caucasus. Let me tell you about a journey that began with a computer science degree and evolved into a mission to bring ancient languages into the digital age.
After completing my computer science degree, I went to the United States for a master’s degree. I spent the next four years gaining experience in various software development roles and soaking up knowledge like a sponge.
Then came a turning point in my story: I packed my bags and headed to the Caucasus, to Sukhumi, Abkhazia. For seven wonderful years, I immersed myself in the culture and language. I didn’t just learn the Abkhaz language; I lived it.
Working with the Abkhaz Language Committee and the Bagrat Shinkuba Language Development Foundation, I led projects to bring the Abkhaz language into the digital realm. The projects I’m talking about include:
- AI-powered machine translation between Abkhaz and Russian
- Launching the Abkhaz Common Voice project for high-level AI datasets
Interview with the team that added Abkhazian to Google Translate:
What happens now?
Now, I have my eyes set on East and West Circassian. The truth is, Google is giving us a year to do it. We need to build a world-class data pipeline for our Circassian languages and get it to the Google team. If we can do that, our languages could be on Google Translate in about 18 months to 2 years. How awesome is that?
Our goal is ambitious but achievable:
- 3 million sentences of high-quality East and West Circassian text.
- 300,000 parallel sentences (probably Circassian-Russian pairs).
Correspondence with Google Engineer:
We have a ready, committed team. We are working full-time for a full year to make this dream a reality. But this is where we need your support - we need your help to make this project run smoothly.
Even a small donation can make a big difference. Just think: we are not just adding a language to a translation tool. We are changing the future of the Circassian language. Instead of disappearing, our language can become a major player in the digital world. Imagine surfing the web in Circassian, watching movies with automatically translated subtitles, or translating documents in seconds!
And that's not all - if this goes well, we dream even bigger. The next step: teaching our language to an AI. How awesome wouldn't that be?
So what do you say? Do you want to be part of something big? Every little bit helps, and together we can make the Circassian language the language of the future for our children. Let's do it!
