The 2022 Civic Hacker Summit

PROJECT

The goal of the summit is to educate and inspire people to effectively address the problems they see in their communities by bringing awareness to the innovative ways others are using data and technology to create change.

About

The 2022 Civic Hacker Summit took place on November 2-4. The goal of the summit is to educate and inspire people to effectively address the problems they see in their communities by bringing awareness to the innovative ways others are using data and technology to create change.

We believe that problems have solutions, and the Civic Hacker Summit is our opportunity to highlight the stories, tools, and methods being used by “civic hackers” across diverse geographic and experiential backgrounds.

The summit was created for people interested in using data and technology to transform their communities and address pressing public problems. Previous topics covered by our global panel of experts included AI ethics, affordable housing, DEI, data literacy, impact measurement, U.S. census data, combating hate/dangerous speech and more!

This virtual convening of changemakers is not an end unto itself. It starts our yearlong process of promoting the work and ideas of the speakers, diving deeper into the topics covered, and equipping the larger community with the knowledge and tools to “get to work” on similar issues in their own communities or by advancing their own projects. Your contribution in the form of sponsorship supports this process and ensures that the Civic Hacker Network can offer no/low cost programs to support and amplify the work of its members.
