- MapDB should be still compatible with old client, but the maps shared through client by anonymous users will not be kept around for long anymore (still in debate)
- To upload a map to be stored permanently users need to have a CnCNet account and login onto the MapDB 2.0, then upload their map
- Uploaded maps can be sorted by popularity, trending, creation date, update date, filtered by game modes, tags, map authors, sizes etc. in the browser
- Maps can be moderated (hidden/edited/deleted) by moderators/admins of CnCNet
- Map list, search, details etc. and map downloads should be accessible through an API for client integration
- Mix files can be linked to maps
- Map previews can be parsed from the map files
- CnCNet map_id added to the map file to help track edits and properly credit original map authors
- Is built in a way to eventually support 3d C&C games.
