About
As discussed some time ago here https://community.osarch.org/discussion/2640/drawings-documentation-donation-proposal#latest I wanted to start an donation item for drawings and documentation (D&D).
I will post these as standalone issues as to make it easy to track progress, as proposed by @Moult .
This is the first and most important one I think, though it also got the most discussion on the forum, see the link above.
So the request is basically this:
Shorten the process from
add stuff (almost blindly) on drawing -> print drawing -> adjust accordingly -> repeat 500 times ;)
to
add stuff on drawing -> visually check -> print 1 time -> done!

Basically the stylesheets, symbols, tags and patterns etc applied in the drawing view. I feel like I spend the most time adjusting annotations as I can't see the result. This also includes correct text sizes as they are printed etc.
Personally I prefer to keep all things including drawings editing etc in Bonsai, but as @duarteframos said on the forum:
This sounds like a great initiative, I'd definitely be wiling to chip in.@Owura_qu said:I'm on the same bus, the least "jumping around" several applications the better, but I have to admit I have a hard >time imagining Blender having decent page layout capabilities. Not saying it is not viable, but It'll probably take >some effort.
I belong to the other group that abhors a disjointed workflow, but as long as your proposal keeps both apps in live >sync, that should be fine.
If we could somehow extend the IFCOpenShell web interface to include page layout and organization UI, maybe >would be acceptable., those are as far as I know always in sync already.
I think this perfectly sums up how I'd like to see it, as long as it's all seamless integrated. So maybe for now the web interface including the editing is the way to go...
Having a solution for this would be huge!! I believe it would get a lot more intuitive for new users and makes it feel as a more complete package!

For every dollar that is raised, OSArch will match that dollar from their general funding pool.

General Note about Projects:
Anyone familiar with software development knows that it's sometimes hard to determine when exactly the project is complete. Even when the scope is clearly defined, quite often there's a sense that more can be done to refine the project. This is unavoidable, so in that light, to be fair to both the funders and solution providers, the steering committee will act as the arbiter to determine when the project is done and when the funds should be distributed. When it's 'done' will also be a factor of how much the funding is relative to how involved the scope is. That is say, if a very small amount of funding is provided, for a solution that would require a lot more funding, the steering committee can allocate funds for partial solutions, as well.
Please note, if no one provides a solution to the project with a year (365days), the funds dedicated to this project will be transferred over to OSarch's general funding. The OSArch steering committee will then allocate the funding to other projects.
