About
This Committee is characterized as a political-cultural group that is non-partisan and non-denominational, autonomous and independent, inspired by the values of democracy, freedom and participation upheld by the founding members, with the aim of promoting any type of activity deemed useful by the Committee itself, namely to facilitate the establishment of the aforementioned association and, in the meantime, pursue the following goals:
1. Spread the culture of Direct Democracy and active citizen participation by any legitimate and suitable means.
2. Increase awareness of the right to the direct exercise of popular sovereignty by citizens, which should be exercised through:
▪️ constant personal involvement in the management of public affairs;
▪️ the responsible use of the tools of Direct and Participatory Democracy, which must be introduced, completed, and strengthened for this purpose;
▪️ free, direct, pluralistic, and unrestricted access to information;
▪️ constant oversight of the exercise of the delegation granted to representatives in the Institutions.
All activities not aligned with the social objectives are expressly prohibited.
The Promoting Committee, to achieve these objectives, considers it necessary that its activity be limited to the application and promotion of such tools, and for a neutral function of aggregation, NOT to express judgments on the content that will be addressed through the use of such tools; tools that citizens will use to exercise their right to vote.
Of course, all members of the Committee may express their opinions in a personal capacity as ordinary citizens.
