About

GENERAL INFORMATION:
  • This year, Denver Doikayt is raising money for the Indigenous Peoples Day celebration, hosted by Right Relationship Boulder on October 8th.
  • To help fund the event, we're hosting a Solidarity Shabbat on Friday, September 8th at Shared Ground.
  • The evening will include Shabbat dinner, and we will hear from indigenous leaders Dodie White Eagle and Jerilyn Docoteau.  We will also offer Elul/Teshuva ritual.
  • This event is a fundraiser. We will ask people to make a meaningful (whatever that means to you) financial contribution.

COVID GUIDELINES:
  • We will plan to be mainly outdoors in the courtyard area for the evening. If possible, please plan to take a covid test before the event, and please be mindful of others' personal space.
  • In the event of rain, we will move indoors and require masks. In the absence of gov regulations that support disabled, chronically ill, elder, and otherwise high-risk people, this is how we keep everyone in our community safe!
  • If you’re not feeling well, stay home!! You can always donate here, and there will be more opportunities to hear about and support this work in the future!

OTHER ACCESS INFO:
  • The event will take place outside, up a flight of stairs from the street. There is also access to the space through a step-less alley way entrance. Bathroom access is inside up a flight of stairs, or there is an additional entrance to the back of the building that does not require steps.
  • We are expecting about ~35 people to attend.
  • There will not be ASL interpretation at this event.
There will be wine and non-alcoholic seltzer.
We request that you avoid wearing any scents (strong lotions or perfumes etc) for people in our community who live with chemical sensitivities / chemical injuries. For more information on fragrance-free spaces read this article by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha
