It uses a combination of open source technologies, programming languages, and frameworks to achieve a stable system that can safely store, backup, and display data you create across your devices.

Fully automated and encrypted backups can be made to external services such as BackBlaze or Wasabi. This ensures your data stays safe and only accessible to you.

Edgebox can be restored to a previously good configuration state or easily be moved to another installation all together.

When self-hosting at home, you can restrict the dashboard or any of your apps to only be accessible in the same network of your Edgebox.

You can configure a custom-domain to connect to your Edgebox, even with a protected network, using Cloudflare and allowing Edgebox to use it to securely provide you worldwide access to your apps via secure tunnel technology.
Also a dashboard click away is a real-time multiplayer, multi-window shell access, so you can explore the internals and source code, and use Edgebox in more advanced and exploratory use cases! 

From the internal framework to all the components, the full source code and documentation is available for anyone to use. It is easy to create new EdgeApp packages, as well as to contribute to the project by expanding the core feature set.
