Hello 2021
Published on January 1, 2021 by Marcel Klehr

Hello everyone!

Woah. 2020 is over. What a year. I hope you all had a few nice holidays to catch your breath.

I've had to take a break from FOSS development myself, unfortunately, but I'm still as committed as ever to perfect your open source bookmarks experience.

Currently, the state of affairs in the floccus universe is a bit of a limbo situation: Floccus v4.4.x has not turned out as well as I, and many of you, I'm sure, had hoped and consequently has not made it to deployment in Chrome and Edge, which both still run v4.3.x.

My goal is to arrive at a new version that resolves the issues in v4.4.x as soon as possible, and, after successful rollout on Firefox, continue rolling out v4.4.x on Chrome and Edge.

I want to add, that I'm unsatisfied by the abysmal experience on Firefox recently, which regrettably often resembled the experience of beta testers, which is why I will try to come up with a better user testing strategy for the long term.

A warm thank you for your continued support! Let's see what 2021 has in store for us.

All the best and godspeed to you, wherever you may be right now :)

Marcel
