About
To make this sustainable, we are establishing cooking spaces across the Borough, run by and for the local community to provide pay-as-you-feel meals (with solidarity donations). Kitchens will be localised within wards (sometimes pairing up) and run by volunteers with the intention of being able to pay cooks for their time, with a democratic and cooperative model.
The kitchens will provide work, food, and a sense of community for local residents, as well as link to information on reducing food waste, energy consumption, as well as improving community resilience in the face of the current and forthcoming crises.
Relationships are born and thrive from the kitchen to the table, and we want our communities to own the means for this social reproduction.
