🔮 Parting Dissolution Updates from Mike Strode 🚀
Published on June 27, 2024 by Mike Strode (OCF)
Friday will be my last day at the Foundation. Thank you to all project admins who submitted the Exit & Unhosting Form, which was closed at the end of Tuesday.
For collectives planning to spend down and close, you have until September 30th to complete that process. I recommend that you assess at the top of September whether your budget and timeline are still aligned with spending down by that date. You can communicate any changes in your plan to [email protected].
For collectives planning to move to another fiscal sponsor or their own 501(c)(3), please proceed with the transition process as discussed in our previous communications on the Leaving OCF page. We will need at minimum the W9, IRS Determination Letter, bank details on some official record (bank letter or voided check), and an MOU/FSA if moving to a new fiscal sponsor. You can send those documents to [email protected].
For collectives who have mailboxes on our Google Workspace, there will be limited to no support after my exit and we need you to move forward with the plans to offboard any data you wish to retain from those servers. Google Workspace offers a Data Migration Tool in its admin panel and we will need to release your domain before that function is accessible to you. You can communicate any requests around releasing the domain to [email protected] and I can action them in my remaining time.
If you have any questions, you can email [email protected] to reach our team.

There have been several emails and accusations by Mike Strode against the Watchers Defense Collective. Showing Mike Strode and his org have miserably poor customer service.
We don't believe people that can't handle the power over people's funds should be in charge anyhow. Especially those that refuse to change their poor customer service and attitudes. We informed Mike Strode several times over the past couple years of these facts, he ignored the requests and even denied them. Running OCF into the ground. Now it's set ablaze by a culture of poor customer service and probably misappropriations of funds. When we informed OCF and MIke Strode about the corrupt Austin Mutual Aide org, they ignored us. So that they could make more money off AMA. Zero principles or ethics. What could go wrong? It's not like Vice did an article about AMA and how they stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Big Sandy Hurricane on the East Coast already.
Mike Strode and staff needed to take new classes to improve the overall customer experience. While lording over tens of Millions of dollars in non-profit project money. But they didn't and now look at this. We are not surprised at OCF going under given these conditions and poor quality of service.
Adding to the poor service of OCF, they now have our account and funds frozen by this ridiculous group. After they asked us all to cash out our funds due to the demise of OCF.
Now Mike Strode, a poor communicator, leaves the sinking ship? Figures.
Have someone contact us immediately. As ya'll do not answer emails and when you do you blame the customer for your own errors.
We demand our funds be released and an apology. We also demand our fees back at this point. Since you cannot provide any useful services at this time.
