About
The "Friends of Toddy" collective is created and contains only members of the Apache PLC4X PMC.
In general using and creating open-source is free of charge. However, PLC4X is slightly different here. In order to build drivers for industrial equipment, we usually need investments to purchase the equipment that we want to build drivers for. Mostly also expensive software is required.
Also, even if the users of PLC4X consist to almost 100% of users from the industrial and commercial space, development is currently completely done by volunteers in their free time and using their mostly private money.
With this collective, we hope to be able to provide the means for our users to support our work, and to incentivise our work and help finance some of the expenses we have in order to continue to provide you a one in a kind project for free.
