About
Goodlife Collective exists to unlock our collective potential.
Our purpose is to support people to become citizens with agency in positively shaping our shared future, building healthy thriving relationships with each other, and with te taiao, the environment.
The idea for the Goodlife Collective began for Founder Freda Wells many years ago, as the threads from her learnings from studying psychology, philosophy, environmental science, yoga teacher training, and life, started to weave together. The common thread of these subjects is the deepening of our inner awareness and interconnectedness.
Goodlife Collective hopes to make these empowering concepts more widely available and accessible, enabling people to connect with ideas and practices that can can unlock their potential, and thus the potential of the collective.
Goodlife Collective is about, 'making the invisible, visible', and about providing opportunities for experiential and relational learning, to repair and strengthen our communities.
Goodlife Collective is about creating opportunities to engage with thought-leadership, and to participate and dialogue to explore how these ideas might translate into local action.
Goodlife Collective is founded on the principle that: When we lift others up; we lift ourselves up.
Goodlife Collective stands for for creating spaces to re-humanise the world, and to contribute to unlocking our individual and collective potential.
Our values are curiosity, humility, integrity and fun.
We understand that our "inner infrastructure builds our outer infrastructure": the world is experiencing a pandemic of loneliness and depression because our system has not been built to support or incentivise relationality and reciprocity. We want to change that.
The whainga /purpose of Goodlife Collective are to:
- guide and help people to connect with resources and events to create community and engagement on issues that they care about
- curate / co-deliver events, conversations and spaces, that reconnect us, to explore co-becoming and co-creating a pathway towards healthy people and for planet
- create spaces for people to gather and explore what it means to live a good life, and to (re)connect heart wisdom back into the decisions and processes that shape our world.
- support and co-host events that educate people on how our information landscape and built-environment shape who we are, and do our bit to create the conditions to help us 're-citizen'.
- positively influence the collective narrative.
We stand for (re)balancing headspace / heartspace, linear / circular, silos / holistic, separateness / connectedness, degenerative / regenerative, left-hemisphere / right-hemisphere, and spreadsheets (yes, yes, they have their place...), with a bigger purpose.
We believe learning happens by doing, so how can we expect society to function awesomely at a collective level in a system that incentives individual success? We need to create opportunities for people to experience and practice collaboration and cooperation. The more we come together as a collective, and form storm norm around being a collective, the better we'll get at it.
As nora bateson said: in order to have community we must commune.
We believe in the value of building self-awareness of our inner space, and how this impacts our outer space. We are exploring bringing more IDG (Inner Development Goals) related events to Poneke.
- We have set up an IDG hub (https://innerdevelopmentgoals.org/hubsnetworks123/) to support and promote awareness of the inner development goals.
