About
Mahdis Azarmandi is a Senior Lecturer in Educational Studies and Leadership at the University of Canterbury. She is currently the co-coordinator of the Bachelor of Youth and Community Leadership. Her research looks at racism and anti-racism in education and social movements. She is currently working on a project mapping refugee student success.
Mahdis has served as a consultant to the New Zealand Human Rights Commission (national Plan against Racism), the Ministry of Education, the New Zealand Red Cross & Ara Taiohi. Mahdis is a teacher for life-long learning and social activist and has taught in Germany, Denmark and Spain.
