Food For Homeless Project
Let’s helping those in need!
Homelessness is often linked to race, gender, disability, and LGBTQ+ identity, which can create additional barriers to support. Food For Homeless project will prioritise outreach to marginalised groups, such as LGBTQ+ youth, disabled individuals, and asylum seekers, who often face discrimination in accessing support
Food For Homeless Project (FFHS) is a trusted organisation with expertise in providing nutritious meals and essential support to homeless individuals. Food For Homeless Project addresses a critical gap in services, offering a holistic approach to health and well-being that extends beyond short-term aid.
Our project is designed to reduce inequalities and ensure equitable access to food, hygiene, and essential support for Camden’s most vulnerable residents.
We recognise that homelessness affects people differently based on their backgrounds, abilities, and personal circumstances. To ensure accessibility and inclusion, we will:
• Offer culturally appropriate meals, including Halal, vegetarian, and allergy-friendly options, so no one is excluded.
• Provide hygiene packs tailored to individual needs, including menstrual products for women and non-binary individuals.
• Deliver services at multiple locationsacrossCamden, reaching rough sleepers, those in shelters, and those in temporary accommodation.
• Ensure language support through multilingual volunteers to assist non-English speakers. Partner with local organisations advocating for racial and gender equity, ensuring our approach remains inclusive and responsive. By recognising and addressing structural inequalities, our project ensures fair access to essential services, fostering a more just, inclusive, and supportive Camden for all.

Over the past year, FFHS has delivered more than 7,000 meals and provided direct support to homeless individuals in Camden. By tackling food insecurity, poor health, and the lack of nutrition resources, FFHS has established itself as a leader in providing comprehensive, impactful solutions for homelessness.
Food For Homeless Project is deeply embedded in the Camden community, with strong ties to local networks. The organisation plays a vital role in supporting homeless individuals across the borough, focusing on areas with high concentrations of rough sleepers and those in temporary housing or at risk of being made homeless. The project is particularly aimed at Camden’s homeless population. Currently there are approximately 903 people reported sleeping rough in Camden (www.statista.com).
We provide at least 100 meal vegetarian and non- vegetarian (Halal, non- Allergic food) with drink, fruit and snacks for homeless people who base in camden borough every week. We also provide, Warm clothes, Sleep bags, First aid kit, Toiletries, Sanitary pads for ladies.
Many young people in Camden experience homelessness. Food For Homeless Project ensures they have access to nutritious food, improving their health and ability to focus on rebuilding their lives.
• By offering volunteer opportunities, we engage Camden’s youth in community service, fostering empathy and leadership skills.
• We actively engage volunteers from diverse backgrounds, creating a community-driven support network for those in need.
• By respecting cultural dietary preferences, we ensure that everyone feels included and supported.

This project will empower Camden residents to actively engage with their community, fostering a sense of collective responsibility.
The project will also provide opportunities for community members to contribute to the design and delivery of activities. Volunteers and participants will be encouraged to share ideas for improving the service and enhancing the programme. This will help shape a more inclusive and responsive initiative, tailored to the community's needs.
We are focused on building strong, lasting partnerships with local businesses, community groups and service providers in order to secure consistent donations of food, supplies and reduce waste.
We are also committed to developing a volunteer-driven model. By engaging local volunteers, we can increase our capacity and create a community-driven approach that’s both sustainable and scalable.
Through these strategies, we are not only addressing immediate challenges but also laying the groundwork for long-term change in Camden, ensuring that vulnerable residents are equipped with the resources and support they need including:
1. Improved health for Camden’s homeless population through consistent access to nutritious meals.
2. Greater social inclusion, as homeless individuals feel valued and supported by the community.
3. Sustainable change, as we build partnerships to maintain this initiative long-term.
