Open Data Scotland is an open-source, collaborative, and volunteer run project which helps people locate and understand Open Data in Scotland better.

Our website (opendata.scot) serves as a valuable resource for individuals and organizations seeking access to Open Data in Scotland.

The project, which emerged from a weekend hack event at Code The City 23, has now been in operation since June 2021 and involves: 

All of this is to help the public understand what Open Data is available in Scotland.

Your contribution to our Collective will help cover essential costs, such as web domain fees and site analytics, and enable us to continue providing this service to the community. 

In future, with the backing from the community, we have aspirations to run regular hackathon-style events to engage with the community and improve the website.
