About
OpenGov Africa is building the continent’s first citizen–leader collaboration hub powered by open-source tools and open data. We are transforming governance from a distant, opaque process into a participatory, transparent partnership. Our platform enables citizens to access clear, verified information about governance, while providing leaders with a constructive space to engage with civic voices. By providing citizens with timely, accessible data, we empower communities to hold leaders accountable.
Our approach is Pan-African, decentralized, and inclusive, bringing together grassroots activists, policymakers, journalists, and technologists to co-create solutions that address real governance challenges.
Who is involved?
Who is involved?
We are led by a multidisciplinary team of technologists, civic advocates, data analysts, and community organizers who are passionate about Africa’s governance future. Our contributors span multiple African countries, working remotely to develop tools, curate open data, and facilitate cross-border dialogue. We partner with grassroots civic groups, open data communities, journalists, and ethical technologists.
How will we use your funds?

Additionally, funds will cover operational needs such as hosting, security, and maintaining our collaborative workspaces. Our priority is to ensure every expense directly contributes to transparency, accountability, and improved citizen–leader engagement while leading by example through openness…
