Open Source Collective's New Executive Director
Published on October 5, 2023 by Benjamin Nickolls

In March 2021 I joined Open Source Collective as Executive Director. Today I pass the title to Lauren Gardner, who I will continue to support as Strategic Director.

In March 2022 Lauren took on the challenge of streamlining our fiscal hosting programme as Head of Operations.

Today Open Source Collective receives $1m/month on behalf of thousands of member projects, and last month our projects paid a record $880k to hundreds of maintainers and contributors. Over the course of the past 18 months, Lauren has navigated a constantly evolving sanctions landscape, ensuring that we continue to meet the expectations of our member projects while expanding services like virtual cards, offering employment to hosted collectives, trademark registration and domain hosting.

Through the School for Poetic Computation and Babycastles Lauren has spent a decade building spaces for creative people to realize their ideas and share them with the world. I look forward to her continuing that at Open Source Collective and I hope you'll join me in congratulating Lauren as our new Executive Director πŸ™Œ
