What happens to donations that can't be matched to their initial pledges.
Published on May 8, 2024 by Lauren Gardner

Just a friendly reminder: if you sent funds via manual bank transfer and did not receive an email confirmation from the open source project you donated to, we were unable to match your donation to your initial pledge.

Every donation made on the platform generates a contribution number. If we receive a bank deposit without a corresponding number and can not match the bank account name to a donor's profile on our platform, we move the funds into a 'holding' account (https://opencollective.com/osc-holding). Funds will remain in this account until we locate the donor and confirm their banking details. Then, we will send the funds to the intended collective.

If you think the funds you might have sent ended up in OSC's 'holding' account, here's more information on how to contact us and claim the funds:

Thanks!
