Companies and individuals can protect their core business and research and development activities with intellectual property rights and registrations

About

Intellectual property refers to intangible creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; symbols, names, and images used in commerce. Generally, all companies own some form of intellectual property.

Registering intellectual property requires tedious steps, contacting attorneys or federal offices, in addition to the fact that management, internationalization, and collecting royalties also require a lot of work, frequently without the best results. The current IP registry process is inefficient, meaning it's taking too long and preventing creators from doing what they want to do most which is creating patents. In addition to this, it is all working in a centralized system, when the future points to a decentralized system, based on blockchain technology.

WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) is the global forum for intellectual property (IP) services, policy, information, and cooperation. WIPO has been setting new standards for the blockchain to be the future of IPs, and our project, Poly186 is the perfect fit for that concept. The reports have shown that the industry is shifting towards leveraging the countless benefits of utilizing emerging technologies to update flawed, inefficient processes.

WIPO is a self-funded agency of the United Nations, with 193 member states and partnerships with government institutions, intergovernmental organizations, academia, and companies – from small enterprises to Fortune 500 companies. Partnerships are a vital part of the success process. By teaming up, each company is able to increase its influence and reach new stakeholders, facilitate collaboration and accelerate investment in green technology.

The blockchain has been around for over a decade, but its potential is just beginning to be realized. It can simplify the registration process for design and trademark protection by cutting down on some of these processes and procedures. Setting up a smart contract on the blockchain to automatically process inputs, a trademark contract could be presented to the court as potential evidence of a trademark's use.

Blockchain and Poly186 have removed the difficulties and unnecessary prolonging of the process and focused on the crux only.
