About
In recent years, Syria’s rising temperatures and foreign water restrictions have enormously diminished the water levels of the Euphrates River-the country’s most significant source of water for centuries. This has come to a head in a recent water contamination crisis in Jarablus, where almost 500 people were poisoned by contaminated water in the last weeks, as many as 150 patients in one day, and the area is no longer being provided with pumped water.
The residents are organizing to raise funds for a water filtration system, and need help raising funds. We have contacts on the ground there who will validate the use of the system and prove the use of funds for the purchase of a SkyHydrant durable water filter (or possibly similar system if we research others).
See https://raisethevoices.org/2024/06/11/mass-poisoning-in-north-west-syria-hundreds-of-residents-infected/ for some background.
