North AL Street Medic Training
PROJECT
Part of: Rocket City Medic Collective
Fiscal Host: Huntsville Bail Fund
Supporting the group of trainers who will be providing a 20hr weekend-long intensive training for street medics.

About
For over 50 years, the 20 hour has been the “gold standard” of training for anyone who wants to wear a red cross to mark as a street medic at a protest. This training includes 20 hours of interactive instruction and practice. It covers a variety of first aid skills, including assessment, airway, bleeding, musculoskeletal injuries, and common medical conditions. It also includes street medic philosophy, protest medic infrastructure, and communications. Finally, it covers protest-specific injuries such as tear gas, rubber bullets, and sound weapons.
Rocket City Medic Collective is partnering with Atlanta Resistance Medics to host a 20hr training weekend for interested parties in the Tennessee Valley. As RCMC transitions into becoming more of a training and collaboration hub, connecting organizations and protest groups to available medics, our aim is to ensure that our collective will have the experience and knowledge necessary to provide trainings like these more regularly.

- If you are interested in participating in the July 25th - 27th Street Medic 20hr, please fill out this form and we will send you follow-up instructions after your responses have been reviewed. Please note that this is a full-weekend commitment, in order to cover all of the information and hands-on training, so drop-ins are not recommended unless you have an emergency.
We've added this project in Open Collective to allow our community a direct means of supporting this event. While we have the fiscal sponsorship of Hsv Bail Fund, we also appreciate the generosity of anyone able to contribute as they're able to help alleviate the financial logistics as much as possible.
In order to host our comrades from Atlanta, we're looking to provide lodging for 2 nights, as well as travel/gas reimbursement. As for the event itself, we need to provide meals for the trainers and all attendees for dinner Friday night, Saturday-Sunday breakfast, and Saturday-Sunday lunches; provide supplies both for training, as well as Narcan, basic First Aid Kits, and IFAKs (trauma-specific kits) for attendees to take home.
Any contributions would be a huge help in making sure we're able to provide necessary resources and aid!
In solidarity,
Rocket City Medic Collective
