Transforming the long-buried 1919 Texas Ranger Investigation Committee Report — currently only available in facsimile PDF format from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission — into a flexible, annotated and better-sourced text-based edition for modern-day and future readers and scholars is essential to the preservation and wider education of the Texas and U.S. publics. The final edition will made available in print and free open access on the web.
