OCF Dissolves, SYC in Transition
Published on March 11, 2024 by JL
Our fiscal sponsor, the Open Collective Foundation, is dissolving. We are in the process of finding and transitioning to a new partnership so that we can resume pooling & redistributing funds. This is not the end of the SYC, but it is a significant pause in our normal work. You can read OCF’s full email statement about their dissolution here.
The last day to donate is Friday, March 15, which is less than a week away. We continue to need donations because many fiscal sponsors require us to have a significant budget to begin a new partnership. As soon as we have our new partnership established, all of your donations will continue going directly to Clark students in need of financial support. Right now, it is most important to have one-time donations rather than recurring donations, because all recurring donations will be automatically cancelled on March 15.
We are closing the request form until we have a new fiscal sponsor. We encourage everyone to use our non-monetary resource toolkit to seek help elsewhere. People who have requested aid already will still get their money from OCF.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, fundraised, and amplified our work. We continue to need you, and we will be in touch about how you can participate in keeping the SYC running in this new chapter.
