About

Since its founding in July 2023, The Astrosky Ecosystem has grown into a large open-source project with multiple volunteer developers and twelve volunteer moderators.

Our main activity is hosting feeds in the ATProtocol/Bluesky network. With around 20,000 unique monthly visitors and nearly two thousand signed up posters, our feeds are a great place to share and discover content about our universe. Our community is diverse, covering a full range from hobbyist astronomers to space agencies.

In the future, we're planning to operate account hosting for our community - effectively federating our community from the main Bluesky network, and ensuring its online sovereignty indefinitely.

Most of all, we're excited for the future: a future in which science communication and discussion spaces can become safe, stable, and permanent.

Contributing to our project on Open Collective helps us pay for hosting costs and budget for future expenses. Thank you so much for stopping by, and for anything you feel willing to give!
