About us
Youth Engaged in Wetlands (YEW) is a global youth network dedicated to wetland conservation through awareness, capacity-building, advocacy, and partnerships. Recognized as a key stakeholder in the Ramsar Convention, YEW actively participates in its processes to foster intergenerational collaboration.
The YEW core team includes 15 young (18-35 years old) volunteer members located around the world (14 nationalities). We are a team with a multidisciplinary background, brought together by a passion for wetlands! Our roles include Network Coordinator (Hugo) and Associate Coordinator (Thandeka), Knowledge and Capacity-Building (Matthew and Simon), Communications and Outreach (Joie and Jord), and Regional Representatives: Americas (Rodrigo and Wendy), Oceania (Ariana and Julieta), Asia (Ting and Sameen), Africa (Awa and Manamela, local chapter lead), and Europe (Cisca and Jakob)
