About

 About us
Youth Engaged in Wetlands (YEW) is a global youth network dedicated to wetland conservation through awareness, capacity-building, advocacy, and partnerships. Recognized as a key stakeholder in the Ramsar Convention, YEW actively participates in its processes to foster intergenerational collaboration.
The YEW core team includes 15 young (18-35 years old) volunteer members located around the world (14 nationalities). We are a team with a multidisciplinary background, brought together by a passion for wetlands! Our roles include Network Coordinator (Hugo) and Associate Coordinator (Thandeka), Knowledge and Capacity-Building (Matthew and Simon), Communications and Outreach (Joie and Jord), and Regional Representatives: Americas (Rodrigo and Wendy), Oceania (Ariana and Julieta), Asia (Ting and Sameen), Africa (Awa and Manamela, local chapter lead), and Europe (Cisca and Jakob)

Our Mission
Youth Engaged in Wetlands will provide a global platform for young people to enable and empower them to help protect and promote our wetlands through: raising awareness, building capacity, fostering partnerships, campaigning for action, and exchanging information.
Our Vision
Youth Engaged in Wetlands is identified as the leading youth network for wetlands, and is recognized as a key stakeholder for the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands through meaningful engagement in the processes of the Convention, ensuring intergenerational cooperation.
