About

Fridays For Future New York City (FFFNYC) is a youth climate action group fighting for a more sustainable city and a better future. We are currently fundraising for our September 17th Climate Strike

We are the New York City chapter of the Fridays For Future movement which began in August of 2018 when 15-year old Greta Thunberg began striking school outside of the Swedish parliament. Across the pond, New York City students heard the message of Greta and the thousands of students who struck for their future. FFFNYC began in early February 2019 with the goal of raising awareness about the climate crisis, getting NYC legislators to listen to science, and do everything in their power to keep warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius.

FFFNYC organizes school strikes, some members strike every Friday while others work on making major strikes more successful. We use our platform on social media to educate and inspire NYC youth to take action on the Climate Crisis while supporting those calling for climate justice. We have worked with a multitude of local organizations to uplift their messages and achieve a sustainable and equitable world.
