About

Jellyfin is a Free Software Media System that puts you in control of managing and streaming your media. It is an alternative to the proprietary Emby and Plex, to provide media from a dedicated server to end-user devices via multiple apps. Jellyfin is descended from Emby's 3.5.2 release and ported to the .NET Core framework to enable full cross-platform support. There are no strings attached, no premium licenses or features, and no hidden agendas: just a team who want to build something better and work together to achieve it. We welcome anyone who is interested in joining us in our quest!

For more information, see our Site, GitHub, and Documentation.

Our project is volunteer-only (no paid contributors) and is committed to remaining both free-as-in-beer as well as free-as-in-speech forever. We use your donations for the following:

* Our extensive repository network/CDN for distributing the software and other assets, including a mirror of the now-defunct Jellyfish test file suite.
* Our build collector and compiler.
* Out demo instances.
* Our self-hosted forums, translation system, and feature request system.
* Our domains and emails.
* API keys for 3rd party systems (e.g. metadata).
* Other miscellaneous administrative expenses that may come up.

Thank you for your support which helps us keep all these systems running.
