Newham Solidarity Fund is a community-led project that helps neighbours to support each other. Built on the principles of mutual aid, solidarity and good will, the fund awards small grants of up to £50 per month to Newham residents.

Applicants can use the fund to pay utility bills, put food on the table, cover rent or buy anything else they need. We believe everyone is owed the dignity to make their own choices without oversight. You can learn more about our values and how the fund is operated by reading our constitution.

You can contribute to the fund or make a claim from this page. Scroll down for information about how to become a contributor, or click 'submit expense' above and follow the instructions to claim from the fund:

- Claiming from the fund using a computer (text instructions)
- Claiming from the fund using a computer (video instructions)
- Claiming from the fund using a phone (text instructions)

The  fund's budget and all transactions are displayed on this page. Except for card/paypal processing fees, all financial contributions go directly to applicants. Our fiscal host, The Social Change Agency, pays out money three times a week.

This page is open for anyone to donate and so we may receive donations from businesses, but those donations do not necessarily represent our support for those businesses and we are independent from them. We may respond to business donations with ad-hoc announcements to contextualize those donations. Stickers or posters can be made available to local businesses who support Newham Solidarity Fund, so please contact us if you would like these materials.

If you are in receipt of benefits, we recommend checking published guidance and/or seeking advice to find out if any income received via the fund will have an impact on your entitlement. For the purpose of Universal Credit, a payment from the fund does not count as 'unearned income'.

Newham Solidarity Fund's aim is to show solidarity, not charity, to any neighbours who need help. We hope Newham residents will give what you can, and take what you need.
