Hi there! Sustainable Brussels explores the Belgian capital in a whole new way. Did you know citizens are growing mushrooms from used coffee ground, set up a shared library of tools, or that we have donkeys running around between our office towers? Brussels might not be known as the greenest city ever, but we are here to show you what its citizens are doing to make it a more sustainable and fun place to visit or live in. Join us on one of our tours this fall! Keep an eye on our facebook page for the most recent schedule.
❓ Who are we?
Sustainable Brussels is your guide to the green face of Brussels. We connect locals, expats and travellers with the heroes of the urban sustainability scene. Check out our map to discover zero-waste shops, vegan restos, urban farms, and other cool green places. Let one of our tours inspire you to turn your own talents in a motor for positive change, while exploring Brussels in a new and fun way.
Sustainable Brussels believes in the just-do-it mentality of the local green heroes and wants to support them by exposing their initiatives to a larger audience. We welcome everyone to join our tours whatever their age, gender, religion, or background.
❓ How did it start?
After tracking down the nicest circular economy projects, zero waste shops, and urban revitalisation projects, out of our curiosity, we wanted to share this knowledge with others. After some pilot tours with friends, we created Sustainable Brussels to organise regular walking tours on Saturdays mornings to bring as many people as possible in contact with the green heroes of the city!
