Part of: Ukraine War Archive
Fiscal Host: Infoscope
Our team organises materials with relevant ‘tags’, also cataloguing date and location, to enable more efficient research.
About
The UWA team provides the tools and technology for analysing, verifying, and preserving collected evidence so that we can help provide a more complete and accurate picture of what has happened. We gather information from various different open and closed sources and input these into the platform data model.
Once uploaded and analysed, materials will not be publicly available but organised according to descriptive ‘tags’, e.g. by event, date, location, whereby four primary datasets can be cross-referenced:
Once uploaded and analysed, materials will not be publicly available but organised according to descriptive ‘tags’, e.g. by event, date, location, whereby four primary datasets can be cross-referenced:
- A list of the registered events
- Audio, video, photo media files as evidence, including transcriptions, translations, and a facial recognition database
- List of Russian military units with registered locations, plus date/time
- Database of Russian propaganda narratives and how these have developed/continue developing over time, including links to Human Rights violations and acts of war
Approved users can then search the UWA platform for relevant tags and apply for access directly to the original content owners. This ability to source numerous files according to their content allows researchers to build more effective cases, based on the most available evidence.
