About Blacksky Algorithms

Blacksky Algorithms is building a decentralized, community-driven future for social media. We develop open-source tools and infrastructure based on the AT Protocol, enabling users to take control of their social experience. Our mission is to create a safer, more inclusive digital space—particularly for marginalized communities—by giving them the power to moderate, curate, and shape their own online environments.

At Blacksky, we believe in open-source, interoperability, and user agency. Our work includes:

Custom Feeds & Moderation Tools – We power a public feed on Bluesky that showcases community-driven content while filtering out harmful actors. Our tools help communities define and enforce their own moderation policies.
Decentralized Social Infrastructure – We are developing a full-featured implementation of the AT Protocol, including a Personal Data Server (PDS), relay infrastructure, and custom feed algorithms.
Public Safety & Digital Resilience – Our open-source projects prioritize digital safety, particularly for communities that face online harassment and misinformation.
