Cabal is a local-first, peer-to-peer community platform that’s currently being used as an engine of distributed chat clients.  It's like IRC with backlog or free, offline group chat. 

Cabal enables any community to effortlessly create their own private infrastructure without having to write any code, or know anything about servers - because there are none.  This means communities can communicate, plan and chat using the desktop- and terminal-based chat clients we've built.
