Sustain Summit: A one-day event for Open Source sustainers

Sustain Summit 2020

A one day guided conversation about open source sustainability.

After two editions in which we agree on a shared vocabulary for describing sustainability problems and built a platform for discussing them, it's time to take a tactical approach to demystifying and questioning proposals in these areas by bringing practical examples to light.

Sustainers are those working within a project to make it sustainable; governance, community managers, maintainers - basically everyone involved who is thinking and actively working on keeping a project healthy and moving forward.

Sustainers evangelize and passionately advocate for the needs of open source contributors. They educate the public through blog posts, talks & social media about the digital infrastructure that they use everyday and for the most part, take for granted.

They convince the companies that they work for to donate money, infrastructure, goods and/or services to the community at large. They also talk to the companies that they don’t work for about the benefits sustaining open source for the future."

We welcome everyone who wants to contribute to this conversation. Email us [email protected] if the ticket doesn't fit your budget.
