Welcome to West Dorset Commons's Open Collective page


This is where we are able to transparently collect and spend money.

What are we collecting money for?


We're working to make the West Dorset bioregion a home to thriving people, in a thriving place, whilst respecting the wellbeing of all people, and the health of the whole planet.

In short: meeting the needs of all people, within the mean of the living planet, aka getting West Dorset into the Doughnut, the safe and just space for humanity, as per Doughnut Economics:

Back in 2018 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said we need "rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society". So that's our goal. To make "rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society" a reality in our locality. 

Indeed, that's the only way we'll be able to get into the safe and just space for humanity where we can meet the needs of all people, within the mean of the living planet.
