SpeakEasy Spoken Word Brussels

 We are a multilingual community of word-loving people based in Brussels. We promote safe and welcoming spaces where people can perform and create together. We organise stages, workshops, open air events and more. 

SpeakEasy was born in 2015 as an open mic for word and music lovers. We started in people's living rooms, moved in the depths of a cave in the centre of Brussels, then found our home at Pianofabriek. 

With the pandemic hitting the cultural sector hard we have worked, as many others, to find other ways of bringing our community's passion and talent into the world. We have organised international online events in collaboration with stages all over Europe, organised creative writing workshops to help each other find inspiration and motivation, and, with the good season, we are taking over public spaces and parks.
